"I am Grand Valley" nominations still open

Grand Valley faculty, staff and peers are asked to nominate students who they feel display strong leadership skills that contribute to the campus community for the annual "I Am Grand Valley" campaign.

January 2009 will mark the sixth year of the campaign, which is dedicated to recognizing student leaders on campus.  Throughout January, a variety of events and activities will take place to celebrate the involvement of these active students.

Nominations are sought for students who show leadership on campus not only in the classroom, but also in those involved in organizations, athletics, or as campus tour guides, crossing guards, tutors, community volunteers, etc.

The Office of Student Life will distribute up to 1,000 “I am Grand Valley” shirts and certificates to nominated Grand Valley students.  Nominations are easily submitted by visiting www.gvsu.edu/iamgv .  The only requirement is that nominees be enrolled during the Fall 2008 and Winter 2009 semesters.  The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, November 25, 2008.

Nominees and their nominators will be recognized at the “I am Grand Valley” Leadership Reception on Wednesday, January 21, 2009.
