Peter A. Letzmann, an adjunct professor of law at Grand Valley State University, can comment on the resignation of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and what it means for Detroit and West Michigan. Letzmann can also comment on what happens next for Detroit city officials.
Letzmann served as city attorney for Troy, Michigan, for 17 years. He was responsible for all of the city’s legal matters. He also has been a deputy city attorney for the city of Pontiac and an assistant corporation counsel for the city of Detroit.
Letzmann is the Michigan chair of the International Municipal Lawyers Association, past president of the Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys and the past chair of the Michigan Municipal League’s defense fund.
