Flautist to make Grand Valley debut

The Grand Valley Artist-Faculty Series, featuring Nancy Stagnitta, flute, and Aviram Reichert, piano is set for Saturday, March 22, from 8-10 p.m. in the Sherman Van Solkema Recital Hall, Performing Arts Center, on the Allendale Campus.

The recital marks the debut performance at Grand Valley for Stagnitta, who is known world-wide for her virtuosity as a classical and jazz flutist. In addition to her duties at GVSU, Stagnitta is the flute instructor at the Interlochen Arts Academy.

University Artist-in-Residence Aviram Reichert will accompany Stagnitta. The program will include: Poulenc's Sonata for flute and piano; Piazzolla's Histoire du Tango (arranged by Varelas); and Prokofieff Sonata in D Major, Op. 94. Admission is free.
