Emergency notification system seeks info

Grand Valley State University strives to provide timely delivery of urgent information directly to faculty, staff, and students. The university has upgraded its communication system to deliver emergency information directly to land line telephones, cell phones, or text/ PDA devices, as well as to additional e-mail addresses.

The university will use this notification system when it is necessary to be in touch with the university community as quickly as possible in situations like inclement weather, closing information, or possible serious matters involving health and campus safety.

It is important that all Grand Valley students, faculty and staff subscribe to this message notification service at this link:
www.gvsu.edu/emergencycontact .

This site also includes FAQs and additional information about the system. It is possible during a widespread campus emergency that people might be directed to tune in one of Grand Valley's radio frequencies for real-time information. Those frequencies are WGVU Radio at 88.5 FM and 1480 AM, serving Ottawa and Kent counties; or WGVS Radio at 95.3 FM and 850 AM serving the Muskegon area.
