GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— Award-winning journalist Dan Rather will open the
36th annual conference of the Council of Michigan Foundations. The
former CBS Evening News anchor and White House correspondent will talk
about the upcoming presidential election and what it means for Michigan.
“The Presidential Election and Michigan’s Transformation” will be held
Sunday, October 12, at 4 p.m., in the Steelcase A Ballroom at DeVos
Place in Grand Rapids.
Media Note: Q and A will be held after Rather’s presentation.
Rather is currently the host of Dan Rather Reports on HDNet. His 2001
book, The American Dream, explored the nation’s founding ideals and
their continuing resonance.
The event is sponsored by Grand Valley State University’s Hauenstein
Center for Presidential Studies, the Council of Michigan Foundations and
the Friends of Ford.
