A two-part workshop will help faculty and staff members better plan for their children to attend Grand Valley.
Planning for Laker Admission Now (PLAN) is scheduled for Thursday, January 25, and Thursday, February 1. Participants are encouraged to attend both days, sessions are offered from 10-11:30 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m. in Kirkhof Center, rooms 215/216. The workshop is sponsored by Work Life Connections, University Development's Parent Family Program, and two university unions, COTA and AFSCME.
Sue Sloop, Work Life Connections consultant, said because admission to Grand Valley has become more stringent, some faculty and staff members are not able to take advantage of tuition discounts and scholarships for their children.
"We want them to know what they can do to help prepare their students earlier, in late junior high or early high school," she said.
Presenters at the workshop include Jodi Chycinski, director of
Admissions; JoAnn Litton, assistant director of Financial Aid; and
Paulla Sandoval, of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. Participants
are asked to register online at www.gvsu.edu/worklife and
click on "Live and Learn Series" from the Training/Workshops menu.
