President continues virtual hours

In an effort to make it easier to communicate with faculty, staff and students, President Thomas J. Haas is continuing the Virtual Office Hours program he unveiled last spring.

Instead of making an appointment and coming to his office, people will be able to “meet” with him through a special Web site. The next sessions will be Tuesday, October 2, from 10:30 a.m.-noon and November 14 from 3-4:30 p.m.

The Virtual Office Hours are set up like an online chat where users are able to post a question. The president will be able to answer them directly online. The site is only accessible by GVSU faculty, staff and students — users will need to login using their Novell username and password. The site will be accessible by clicking on a banner on the university’s homepage or directly by visiting www.gvsu.edu/virtualofficehours .
