The Padnos International Center is offering grants for faculty
development through the Council on International Education Exchange.
Mark Schaub, executive director, said two grants are available for
summer development programs. Eligibility is limited to tenured,
tenure-track and full-time affiliate faculty members. He added that CIEE
seminars are very interdisciplinary and will provide faculty members
with a deep understanding of the host country and culture through
interaction with faculty experts.
“We think that experience will, in turn, more richly affect that faculty
member’s work back here at GVSU, whether better understanding the
international students in their classes, or in their research or course
development,” he said.
The deadline to apply is December 21. For a list of seminars, visit the
CIEE Web site at www.ciee.org
and click on “International Faculty Development Seminars.”
