A panel of local experts from the profit, non-profit, and government
sectors offer advice to graduate students on the competencies,
attributes, and experiences that employers seek when hiring grad
students for mid- and upper-level, and professional entry-level
positions.
Participants represent organizations including Meijer, Pyper Products,
BLDI Environmental Engineering, Westminster Finance, Deloitte &
Touche, City of Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Community College, Varnum
Consulting, and Hope Network.
The event, called "Beyond Your Master's Degree: Attributes and
Competencies that Employers Require, Expect, and Value!" will be
Wednesday, February 28 6-7:30 p.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium (DeVos
Center). This event is sponsored by the Graduate Student &
Professional Association with support from Careers Services and Pew
Campus Student Services.
