Nominations sought for student, faculty and staff awards

Three different campus organizations are seeking nominations for awards to be presented at the annual Women’s Commission Awards Ceremony, scheduled for March 20 at noon in the Kirkhof Center.

The Women’s Commission will present two awards. The Maxine Swanson Award is presented to an individual who has provided leadership in support of the rights of women on campus; and the Women’s Impact Award will recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions as a professional, volunteer, or agent of change.

To nominate someone for these awards, send forms and supporting materials to Jo Ann Wassenaar, 161 Kirkhof Center by March 2.

The Women and Gender Studies program will present the Barbara Jordan Award to an individual who is a longtime advocate of women and women’s issues. More information is online at www.gvsu.edu/wgs . The deadline for nominations is February 23.

Also at the March awards ceremony, Positive Black Women will present scholarships from its PBW Scholarship Endowment.
