Nominations due for Venderbush student award

Nominations for the Kenneth R. Venderbush Student Leadership Award are due in the Dean of Students Office, Student Services Building, room 202, by Friday, February 9.

The award will be presented to a senior at the Awards Banquet on April 9. The Venderbush Leadership Luncheon has been held and sponsored by the Office of Student Life since 1999 in honor of the memory of Kenneth R. Venderbush. The program features a series of leadership speeches and provides recognition to the student leaders on campus who consistently contribute to the community. Nominees for the Immediate Impact Award, as well as the newest members of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society, and Alpha Phi Omega, the national service fraternity will also be recognized. The Immediate Impact Award is offered to recognize students who have made a significant impact on a student organization early in the semester, creating an immediate influence and impact on the organization.

The Venderbush Leadership Luncheon also includes the opportunity for students to hear about the personal leadership experiences from a community leader. This semester's luncheon will feature speaker Jason Paulateer. Paulateer is a 2007 Giants Award Winner and the vice president of National City Bank of the Midwest and executive director of the Community Development Association of Michigan.
