Night of chocolate benefits Women's Center

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Feel free to indulge -- it's for a good cause!

"Indulge in a Cause," a night to sample rich chocolate desserts from area chefs and participate in a silent auction, is a fund-raising event for Grand Valley State University's Women's Center. Proceeds from the night will benefit the center's programs and services.

The event, the fourth annual fund-raiser for the center, is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Hager-Lubbers Exhibition Hall in the DeVos Center, 401 W. Fulton St. in Grand Rapids.

Tickets are $30 per person ($5 for students). They are available at the door or in advance at the Women's Center, in the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale Campus. For more information, call (616) 331-2748 or send an e-mail to [email protected].

Desserts by chefs at Butch's Dry Dock, Cold Stone Creamery, Erika's Delicatessen, Connie's Cakes 'N Crafts, and Aramark Campus Dining, among others, will be available.

Grand Valley's Women's Center opened in 2001 to help support women students through programs and services. It annually hosts programs on domestic violence, sexual assault, breast cancer awareness, and other issues. The center also provides scholarships to traditional and non-traditional students.
