Mobile Mammography Unit visits GVSU

The Lacks Cancer Center at Saint Mary's Health Care will bring its Mobile Mammography Bus to Grand Valley State University for two sessions.

The bus will be on the Allendale Campus in Lot G on Wednesday, April 11 and Wednesday, May 23. Appointments must be made in order to receive service. Call St. Mary's at 752-6442 to schedule an appointment.

Early detection of breast cancer saves lives. The Lacks Cancer Center follows the recommendations of the Michigan Cancer Consortium and the American Cancer Society that say women should have their first mammogram at age 35 and that women over 40 should have a mammogram every year.

The Saint Mary's Mobile Mammography Unit is a member of PPOM and Priority Health.  The cost of the mammogram will be fully paid for members of the GVSU Enhanced Medical Plan and Base Medical Plan.  Priority Health members do need a referral.  Please bring your insurance identification card when you visit the unit. Pew Campus faculty and staff are encouraged to ride the shuttle to the Allendale Campus or visit a local PPOM participating hospital.  A shuttle schedule is available at:  www.gvsu.edu/students
