Learn to fence during six-week class

Participants will learn how to fence during a six-week class sponsored by the Women Connecting Series, a collaboration of the Women’s Center and Work Life Connections.

“Fencing for Feisty Women” will be led by Nancy Giardina, assistant vice president for Academic Affairs. It starts at 11:30 a.m. on September 13 in the Fieldhouse and continues each Thursday through October 18.

Giardina, who began fencing during her undergraduate years at the University of Rhode Island, said participants will learn other things beside a new form of exercise.

“I hope the women who engage in this class are energized in their own lives by moving differently, thinking differently and acting differently,” she said. “It is amazing how good we can feel by engaging in something new and different.”

Cost is $10, equipment will be provided. RSVP by calling x12748 or sending an e-mail to [email protected].
