Kindschi returns to classroom

P. Douglas Kindschi has returned to Grand Valley’s classrooms following his year-long leave of absence to serve as the interim president of the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center. His new position will be as a professor reporting to the provost and president.

His teaching responsibilities will involve mathematics, philosophy, and science and religion. Kindschi, who served as dean of Science and Mathematics for 28 years, will also work with University Development in community efforts including the new Sylvia and Richard Kaufman Interfaith Institute and his grant-funded Grand Dialogue for Science and Religion.

He represents the President’s Office by working with the DeVos Medical Ethics Colloquy and serves as one of Grand Valley’s representatives on the GRMERC Board of Directors.
