KCON plans retirement party for dean

The campus community is invited to a reception honoring Phyllis Gendler as she retires as dean of the Kirkhof College of Nursing.

The reception is scheduled for September 20, from 4-7 p.m. in the Alumni House. A brief program will begin at 5 p.m. RSVP for the event by sending an e-mail to Ruth Ann Stone at [email protected].

Gendler joined Grand Valley’s faculty in 1973 and was named dean of the nursing program in 2001. She plans to work with nursing faculty members to continue developing the college’s gerontology initiatives and give more attention to osteoporosis research.
