The director of the Latin American and Latino Studies Department at the
University of Illinois at Chicago will discuss the future of Cuba,
continuing the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Maria de los Angeles Torres will present “Cuba, its Future and its
Exiles” on Thursday, October 11, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Kirkhof
Center, Grand River Room.
The discussion will be moderated by Michelle Miller-Adams, assistant
professor of political science. de los Angeles Torres, author of two
books about Cuba and Latino politics, will discuss the political,
economical and social challenges that Cuba encounters in the 21st
century.
