GVSU, MSU to sign collaborative agreement

The presidents of Grand Valley State University and Michigan State University will sign a collaborative agreement on Tuesday, January 23, that will help enhance health care education in West Michigan.

The official signing ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on January 23 at Grand Valley's Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences, 301 Michigan St. NE in Grand Rapids. Media coverage is welcome; a mult box will be available.

Scheduled to speak are Grand Valley President Thomas J. Haas, Michigan State University President Lou Anna Simon, GVSU Provost Gayle R. Davis and MSU Provost Kim Wilcox.

After the ceremony, tours of the building will be available.

In February 2005, various community institutions and organizations committed resources and expertise to support MSU's expansion of its College of Human Medicine to Grand Rapids. The stakeholders are GVSU, MSU, Grand Action, Spectrum Health Systems, St. Mary's Health Care, The Right Place Inc., and Van Andel Research Institute.
