Notes for the holiday break:
1. Clerical, Office and Technical staff should record the following
on their time cards for the holiday and break schedule: December 24,
25, 26, 27, 28, 31 and January 1 — H (Holidays)
2. Only prescheduled mail deliveries to offices (working over
the break) will be made.
3. The heat in all buildings will be lowered to 50-55 degrees to maximize energy savings. No activities or events should be scheduled during this period.
4. Facilities Services will be scheduling electrical shutdowns in buildings across campus from December 26 through December 28. Specific dates and times will be distributed before the break but if you have additional questions, please contact Customer Service at the Allendale Campus at x13000.
5. Allendale Campus drives, parking lots and sidewalks will be adequately plowed to permit access to campus for staff. For special events, please notify Customer Service at the Allendale Campus at x13000 prior to December 22. Pew Campus reserved lots and sidewalks will be adequately plowed. For special events at the Pew Campus, contact Facilities Management at x16700 prior to December 22.
6. For operating hours for the Rec Center (including the Pool and Climbing Center hours, which are usually different than the Rec Center), go to www.gvsu.edu/fieldhouse - for Athletics event information, go to www.gvsulakers.com.
7. The Information Technology Offices and Manitou Lab in Allendale will be closed during the break. E-Mail and the campus computer network will remain on-line and attended. All Banner systems and Banner dependent systems will be down from 1 a.m. December 22, 2007 through midnight December 30, 2007 for Oracle 10g upgrade.
8. In Allendale, twenty-four hour security will be provided. EMERGENCY calls through Central Dispatch 911 and NON-EMERGENCY calls through Public Safety at x13255. If access to a building is required, prior arrangements must be made with the Department of Public Safety Office (Barbara Bergers, x13255) before December 21.
On the Pew Campus, twenty-four hour security will be provided. EMERGENCY calls through Grand Rapids Dispatch 9-911 and NON-EMERGENCY calls through Pew Campus Security at x16677 or 292-8052. If access to a building is required, prior arrangements must be made with the Pew Campus Security Department at x16677 before December 21.
9. Maintenance emergency response will be handled in Allendale through Central Utilities Building at x13000. Staff will be dispatched as necessary. Those at the Pew Campus, Muskegon Lake Michigan Center, and Holland Meijer Campus should contact Pew Campus Security at x16677.
