GVSU among the best in Midwest

ALLENDALE, Mich. — With a new academic year beginning Friday, Grand Valley State University continues to get noticed in national rankings.

On the heels of earning positive marks from U.S. News & World Report, Grand Valley State University was selected by the Princeton Review as one of the best colleges in the Midwest and one of the best value colleges nationwide in its 2008 annual college rankings.
   
The rankings are based on a survey by The Princeton Review that asked 120,000 students at 366 top colleges to rate their schools in dozens of categories and report on their campus experiences.
Ranking lists reporting the top 20 colleges in more than 50 categories are in the new 2008 edition of The Princeton Review's annual college guide "Best 366 Colleges,” which went on sale today. The book's complete ranking lists are posted on www.PrincetonReview.com.

The Princeton Review survey asks students 80 questions about their school's academics / administration, campus life, student body, and themselves. Tallies for this edition's rankings are based on surveys of about 325 per campus at the 366 schools. The Princeton Review is a New York City-based company known for its test-prep courses, education services, and books. It is not affiliated with Princeton University and is not a magazine.

Last week, Grand Valley was selected by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 15 public universities in the Midwest for its master’s degree-granting institutions, moving up to 8th from 9th last year.
