Grand Valley Artist-in-Residence to perform

Grand Valley State University Artist-in-Residence, pianist Aviram Reichert, will perform in a recital Monday, November 19, at 8 p.m. in the Louis Armstrong Theatre, Performing Arts Center, Allendale Campus. Admission is free.

Originally from Israel, Reichert joined Grand Valley's faculty in 2001. He won the Bronze Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1997, just months after he took first place in the First-Dong-A International Piano Competition in Seoul, Korea. He has also won international competitions in France, Germany and Japan.

Reichert has performed as a soloist with symphonies around the world, including all the leading orchestras in his native country: The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Recital tours have also taken him to Chicago, Atlanta, San Antonio, Washington, D.C. and many other worldwide venues.
