An entertaining mix of modern, jazz, ballet, folk and classical dancing
is planned for the Grand Valley State University Spring Dance Program.
Three performances are scheduled: 8 p.m. Friday, April 6; 2 p.m. and 8
p.m. Saturday, April 7 at the Louis Armstrong Theatre, Performing Arts
Center, Allendale Campus.
“This is the first time we have done a dance concert like this,” said
Jefferson Baum, producer of Dance Programs at Grand Valley. “Each of our
dance faculty has choreographed a segment of the show.”
Students will perform an eclectic mix of seven dance numbers including
Baum’s “Harlden,” set to the music of Mozart, “Maybe,” choreographed by
Amy Cova, set to the music “Horse,” by Tori Amos, and “Undertow,”
choreographed by Shauna Steele to the music of Blue Man Group.
Tickets, $10 general admission; $5 children ages 12 and under, may be
purchased at the Louis Armstrong Theatre Box Office in the lobby of the
Performing Arts Center, M-F, 12-5 p.m. and one hour prior to
