A double bill of Grand Valley State University student-directed, one-act
plays includes Sure Thing by David Ives, directed by Whitney
Hershberger, and The Furies adapted from Aeshylus and directed by Hannah Gaff.
The very funny comedy, Sure Thing
, explores the nature of the importance of a "first
impression" and how you need more than a second chance to make it a
good one. The Furies performances culminate director Hannah Gaff's
Student Summer Scholar project. This adaptation of The Eumenides, the
third part of Aeshylus' Orestia will transport audiences to the ancient
ritualistic world of Greece and the dark, primal world of the Furies,
monster-goddesses of the underworld.
This Performance Studio Series is planned for December 7-8, at 7:30 p.m.
and December 9, at 2 p.m. in theĀ Louis Armstrong Theatre, Performing
Arts Center, Allendale Campus. Tickets are all $6 non-reserved seating.
