The Mathematics Department has established a new Mathematics and
Community Service Award, recognizing mathematics majors at the junior
level for excellence in academic and community service.
Funding for the award is being provided by Rick Szczepanski, former GVSU
employee, a mathematics educator, and the head of the Mary J.
Szczepanski “Never Give Up” Scholarship Foundation.
The award winner will be selected each winter semester and will receive
a plaque and a mathematics book.
