A Washington University professor will give two presentations Monday,
October 15, about women in Iran during a visit sponsored by several
university departments.
Fatemeh Keshavarz, professor of Persian and comparative literature and
chair of the Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages and
Literatures, will discuss her new book, Jasmine and Stars
, at 9 a.m. in the Kirkhof Center, rooms 215-216; and contemporary Iran
at 3 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center, Grand River Room.

, Keshavarz contends that Iranian women are vibrant and live not in fear
but in hope. Her visit is sponsored by the Padnos International Center,
Middle East Studies, English Department, Women and Gender Studies, and
the College of Interdisciplinary Studies.
