Four participants, including Ward Connerly, who spearheaded the campaign to place the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative on the November ballot, debated the pros and cons of the initiative at an event sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
Appearing with Ward Connerly were Hilary Shelton, director of the NAACPs Washington Bureau; Linda Chavez, chair of the Center for Equal Opportunity and analyst for FOX News; and Mark Fancher, ACLU of Michigan attorney.
