"I'm very pleased that this debate will take place on campus," said Mark A. Murray, president of Grand Valley. "It allows the campus community to hear two effective advocates with strongly held views present a respectful and informative debate. I hope many will attend, not just to learn the positions on this timely issue, but to witness a case study in how we can properly engage each other on highly charged and important issues."
The debate will take place Wednesday, February 15, from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Grand River Room of the Kirkhof Center on Grand Valley's Allendale Campus.
The debate is sponsored by several Grand Valley organizations including Work Life Connections, Office of Planning and Equity, Housing and Residence Life, The Women's Center, Dean of Students Office, University Bookstore and Human Resources.
