This year, Campus Leadership Week will be January 15-21. A variety of events and activities will be taking place to celebrate the involvement of these active students, including the recognition of up to 1,000 student leaders with an "I am Grand Valley" t-shirt.
To thank students for their service this year, Grand Valley faculty, staff and peers are asked to nominate students who display strong leadership skills to contribute to the campus community. During Campus Leadership Week in January, the Office of Student Life will distribute up to 1,000 "I am Grand Valley" shirts to nominated GVSU students. Nominators may submit a maximum of three names of current students enrolled in the Winter 2007 semester. Nominations are easily submitted by visiting www.studentlife.gvsu.edu/signmeup. The deadline for nominations is December 1, 2006.
Nominees and their nominators will be recognized at the "I am Grand Valley" Leadership Reception on Wednesday, January 17, 2007.
The "I am Grand Valley" campaign was created to recognize that student leaders are the very elements that make Grand Valley what it is. Leadership extends beyond officers in campus organizations to student assistants in offices, athletes, orientation leaders, campus tour guides and crossing guards, tutors, community volunteers, and especially students who excel in the classroom. In past years, student leaders have been given t-shirts and coffee mugs displaying the "I am Grand Valley" logo.
