Storyteller continues Hispanic Heritage Month events

Jaime Riascos, a bilingual storyteller, will continue Hispanic Heritage Month events with a performance, "The Angel and the Magic Woman," on Tuesday, October 18, from 10-11:30 a.m. Cook DeWitt Auditorium.

Riascos' performance is based on Latin American traditional stories and will include "Love's Birth," by indigenous Cachinaguas, a tribe that lives in Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil; "An Old Man with Enormous Wings," a very Caribbean story by Nobel award winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez; and "The Legend of the Magic Woman," a Latin American traditional story full of grace and with remarked masculine and feminine stereotypes.

The event is free and open to the public. It's sponsored by the Latin American Studies program; call x13018 for more information.
