State Senate Higher Education Hearing at Grand Valley State

Allendale, Mich. -- University presidents and other education leaders will testify before the Michigan Senate Higher Education Subcommittee on Friday, May 6. Members of the subcommittee are in the process of gathering information to help with budget debates in Lansing.

This is a public hearing open to media coverage.

The hearing begins at 10 a.m. in the Pere Marquette Room of the Kirkhof Center on Grand Valley State University's Allendale campus. It will conclude at 12:30 p.m.

Scheduled to testify, in order, are the presidents of Grand Valley State University, Oakland University, and Western Michigan University. They will be followed by representatives from the American Association of University Professors, Michigan Farm Bureau, Agriculture Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service, and Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System.

This is the second of four hearings scheduled. The next hearings will be on May 13 at Northwood University in Midland and May 20 at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.
