Respecting people in diverse relationships

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- John Corvino, philosophy professor at Wayne State University and gay rights advocate, will be speaking on homosexuality, morality and diversity at Grand Valley on Tuesday, October 11, at 9 p.m. at the Cook-DeWitt Center on the Allendale Campus.

The evening event is free and open to the public. Media are welcome.

Combining philosophy with sensitivity and humor, Corvino explains how to respect people's diverse relationships while also respecting deeply held moral and religious convictions.

Corvino has been speaking and writing on homosexual issues for more than a decade. His columns and articles have been featured in regional and national print. He has also appeared on MSNBC's Scarborough Country and various radio programs.

Corvino will also give a presentation for Grand Valley faculty and staff on October 11, from noon-1:30 p.m. in room 204 of the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale Campus.
