Outsourcing has been characterized as a threat to American jobs and companies by some, while others claim it is necessary to stimulate overall economic growth. Daniel Griswold, who was named director of the Cato Institute's Center for Trade Policy Studies in 2004, will speak about outsourcing at a breakfast meeting at Grand Valley State University.
Griswold gained special insights to this popular topic through his studies on globalization, the World Trace Organization, imports and manufacturing, trade and democracy, immigration, and related subjects.
Griswold will speak Tuesday, March 22, 2005. Breakfast is at 7:30 a.m. and the presentation begins at 8 a.m. The meeting will be in the Loosemore Auditorium of Grand Valley State University's Pew Grand Rapids Campus located at 401 W. Fulton. Parking is available in the Front Lot.
MEDIA NOTE: The event is open for media coverage. A mult box will be available for broadcast outlets.
The visit is sponsored by Grand Valley's Seidman College of Business Alumni Association and the World Affairs Council. For more information, call (616) 331-7100 or email: [email protected].
