NSF workshop will aid student learning

Scott Grissom, associate professor of computing and information systems, hosted an National Science Foundation Faculty Enhancement Workshop on August 1-5.

The workshop, "Integrating Algorithm Visualization into Computer Science Education," taught 15 invited faculty from across the country how to use visualizations and animations to increase student learning in computer science.

Grissom's workshop combined lectures, guest speakers and group activities that allowed participants to create their own visualizations. The workshop is supported by a three year NSF grant.
