Johnson Center Hosts Seminar for New Nonprofit Leaders

On June 21-23, 2005, The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership hosted CEO 201 at the Grand Valley State University Alumni House. This training seminar for new Executive Directors and those on track to lead nonprofit organizations was attended by 26 leaders from throughout the state, including the Detroit area and Northern and Western Michigan.

This three-day seminar created by the Johnson Center was taught by experts in the focus areas of: Mission and Governance, Leadership and Management, Financial Management, Fund Development, Human Resources and Imaging. Participants were provided with effective strategies for nonprofit management, and were also able to interact with other professionals to create a support network. This seminar is offered annually by the Johnson Center.
