New events are planned to celebrate Family Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2. The list below details a few events, see the Family Weekend Web site at www.gvsu.edu/familyweekend for all activities.
Activities include:
- Student organizations will staff tables in the Kirkhof Center throughout the weekend; food, games and crafts are planned.
- A Family Weekend 5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. on October 1 at the Kirkhof Center.
- Families will also be able to enjoy Grand Valley's Renaissance Festival, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary, and other Shakespeare Festival activities (see story below).
- The Holland Meijer Campus will host an open house from 1-3 p.m. on October 1.
- An Interdenominational Worship Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on October 2 in the Kirkhof Center's Grand River Room, followed by a brunch at Fresh Food Company.
