The fourth annual Teaching and Learning with Technology Fair, sponsored
by several Grand Valley State University departments, will focus on ways
educators can integrate technology into their classrooms.
The fair will run from 1-5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, in Loosemore
Auditorium of the DeVos Center.
Alan November will give the keynote address at 1 p.m. November, from
Building Learning Communities, is known internationally as an
educational technology leader. One of the original five national Christa
McAuliffe Educators, November will discuss "Survival Skills for the
Digital Immigrant," a humorous look at ways to use technology to
improve learning.
He will also lead a session at 2:30 p.m. on "Teaching Zack to
Think: Developing Critical Thinking Skills," which provides
step-by-step teaching tips that help students and teachers think
critically about Internet information.
Via a distance-learning hookup, Grand Valley organizers have made
November's presentation available to K-12 teachers and other educators
in Ottawa County, Muskegon and Traverse City.
Faculty exhibits will be open from 2-5 p.m. and include presentations
on the paperless classroom, handheld computers and building community in
online classrooms.
The fair is sponsored by GVSU's Faculty Teaching and Learning Center
and the Educational Technology Department, with support from the
Zumberge Library and Continuing Education. For more information, please
