America and Germany in an age of turbulence
Professor Stefan Immerfall from Schwabisch Gmund University will be
visiting Grand Valley for a discussion on transatlantic relations. He
will be speaking on Monday, January 24, from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Kirkhof
Center in the Pere Marquette room, KC 204. His presentation is titled
"Bonds that Hold: Germany and America in an Age of
Turbulence."
Immerfall believes that as America and Europe are in an era of change,
more competition can be expected. He argues that while some see
transatlantic partnerships fading, strong cultural ties can keep these
types of relationships strong.
The event is sponsored by the sociology department, the Padnos
International Center and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. For
more information, contact Hermann Kurthen at 331-3730 or at [email protected].
