ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Grand Valley State University is using creative messages to promote a new bus service for students. The Allendale Express begins Monday, August 29, with service between the Allendale Campus and select businesses along Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale. The six-week trial is in collaboration with the Allendale Chamber of Commerce.
"We really want to get the word out so students will take advantage of the Allendale Express," said Erin Babson, manager of Operations for the Pew Campus and Regional Centers. "As you can tell by the giveaways, we geared our slogans for college students."
Fun giveaways will be handed out to students to promote the news bus service during the first week of classes beginning Monday, August 29, outside of the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale Campus. Giveaways with fun slogans include:
" Toy trains with whistles: "Full steam ahead on the
Allendale Express"
" Toy maze: "Find your way
into Allendale" (on the Allendale Express)
" Parachute
guy: "Drop into Allendale" (on the Allendale Express)
" Planes that stick to walls: "Fly into Allendale" (on
the Allendale Express)
" Whoopi cushion: "Save on
gas" (on the Allendale Express)
" Matchbox car:
"Leave the driving to us" (on the Allendale Express)
