Clothesline Project brings attention to violent acts

T-shirts will hang in the Kirkhof Center throughout this week to draw attention to the problem of violence against women.

The Clothesline Project, a Women's Center annual display, includes t-shirts with messages and illustrations that have been designed by women survivors of violence or by someone who loves a woman who has been killed. The concept of the national campaign comes from the vision of women hanging clothes in their yards and discussing their "dirty laundry" with a neighbor or close friend.

T-shirt making workshops will be sponsored by the Women's Center from Monday through Wednesday, October 3-5, at Kirkhof Center, Holland Meijer Campus and Secchia Hall at the Pew Campus. For more information about the workshops, call the Women's Center at x12748.
