Agreement reduces fees tied to credit card transactions

The university has entered an agreement with Western Union Speedpay to handle all aspects of credit card transactions associated with student accounts.

While credit cards are a convenient method to pay for tuition, room and board, Grand Valley has paid about $600,000 in fees to credit card companies annually. Credit cards may still be used to pay tuition costs, but Speedpay will charge users $15 to process payments.

The Registrar's Office suggests making payments with electronic checks, checks or money orders through the mail or in person at the Student Assistance Centers.
