In observance of National Young Voter Awareness Month, Michigan
Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land and Grand Valley State University
President Mark Murray joined members of the Grand Valley Student Senate
in a voter registration event on March 18.
National Young Voter Awareness Month was designated to help reverse the
low voter-turnout rate among 18-to-24 year-olds. Land and Murray spoke
to Grand Valley students about the importance of voting, and encouraged
them to register at the Secretary of State's Mobile Branch Office.
In addition to voter registration, the Mobile Branch Office serves as a
full-service Secretary of State Office that allows customers to conduct
other business such as renewing driver's licenses and vehicle
registrations.
