Target has donated $1,000 to the Career Services office at Grand Valley in response to their successful recruiting efforts at GVSU for both full-time and internship positions at Target stores.
Target has been a supporter of career-related programs at Grand Valley State University for several years. In the recent past, Target has hired more than a dozen GVSU graduates into professional positions, from many different academic backgrounds including criminal justice, history, marketing, finance, and sociology. In addition, 12 students have performed official internships with Target as part of GVSU internship programs in the past three years.
The donation from Target this year will be used to help fund the annual senior etiquette dinner, coordinated in conjunction with Alumni Relations, and held during the winter semester. This event helps students learn proper dining etiquette during formal occasions including interview settings. In addition, the annual "Dress for Success" workshop, a program held to demonstrate proper attire to wear during interviews, held each winter semester, will be funded in part by Target's donation.
