Stars of film present Q&A at GVSU

On Thursday, the public has the chance to meet a top Hollywood actor, director, and other professional actors in a Q&A session sponsored by GVSU's Summer Film Project. The informal discussion will be held 2-3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at the Cook-DeWitt Center Auditorium. All interested persons are welcome.

The Summer Film Project begins filming this week on the short movie, "A Moment of Grace." Starring in the lead role is Pauley Perrette, familiar to television audiences as the lead in CBS's "Navy NCIS," and for roles in "JAG" and the motion picture "The Ring," among other film credits.

Completing the nine-member cast of "A Moment of Grace" are SAG (Screen Actors Guild) actors from Los Angeles, Chicago, and Michigan. Director and co-producer is Hollywood actor/producer Alba Francesca, and back for the third year as director of photography is noted cinematographer Jack Anderson.

"A Moment of Grace," written by Samantha Humphrey, is the story of a young American doctor, Grace Peters (Pauley Perrette), who is working in a Palestinian refugee camp clinic and has seen far too much senseless death and maiming. When a young Palestinian couple arrives at the clinic in extremely premature labor, she risks her own life to save the infant. A positive outcome to their desperate situation hinges on Grace's sheer determination and the graciousness of two Israeli soldiers. The story does not take sides, but rather shows the very human aspect of people living in the midst of the Middle East conflict.

The film, technical, and post-production crews are made up of Grand Valley film and video production students. Shooting begins May 28 and continues through the next two weeks.
