Students have heard it's coming. The only question is how and when can they buy parking permits the administration and Board of Trustees approved for Fall 2004. Any student wishing to park a car on the Allendale or Pew campuses next academic year must have the permit.
The process to buy it is currently being developed by Public Safety, and information will be posted online at www.gvsu.edu/publicsafety.
Sara Pokorski, Public Safety parking systems coordinator, said the only way students can buy the permits is by going to the Web site.
July 15 is our deadline to have the site ready for students to buy the permits, said Pokorski. We may be ready earlier and they should check the site to buy the parking permit or for any information updates.
Students will get a car sticker, which will be an annual sticker but paid for by semester. The permit will be bar-coded and Pokorski said Public Safety officers will be checking cars closely.
The cost for 2004-2005 will be $95 per semester for full-time students, and $50 per semester for part-time students. Students will see the parking permit charges on their regular tuition bills.
Everyone who signs up online when that site begins taking orders will be issued a permit.
