The Grand Rapids Business Journal noted Grand Valley's alternative
energy work in Muskegon as 'Newsmaker of the Year' for 2002.
Seidman School of Business' Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy
Center in Muskegon will be a business incubator and research and
development center for alternative and renewable energy technologies. It
will also serve as a major demonstration project of those technologies.
'The honor is not bestowed because of the year, or because it was
newsworthy, but because it will have economic impact for the long-term,'
said journal editor Carole Valade-Copenhaver.
