Charity Golf Contribution

The inaugural Ottawa County Amateur golf tournament, held in August at The Meadows, raised $3,000. The money will be split between the Grand Valley State University scholarship fund and the Newspapers In Education program of The Holland Sentinel. The scholarship fund benefits students and helps defray their college-related expenses. The NIE program annually places more than 150,000 newspapers and special curriculum guides in grades 1-12. The tournament was in Allendale.
