GVNow received a first place award in the Public Relations Society of America's annual East Central District awards competition.
The honor, presented during the PRSA national conference in Chicago, is in the internal communications category.
GVNow is a team effort in UCOMM, and so we're all excited and proud to be recognized with this award, said University Communications director Stephen Ward.
The regional competition included entries from Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky,
Ohio, West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania. More than 100 entries produced by PR firms and institutions were entered. Many of the entrants were from such larger markets as Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis.
GVNow was launched last year as a source of daily news for the GVSU community.
