The Kirkhof School of Nursing at GVSU has been chosen to receive $25,000 in scholarship funds as part of a program initiated this year by the Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services and the Michigan Board of Nursing.
The objective is to address the national shortage in advanced-practice nursing.
Five graduate students will each receive $5,000 grants to aid their pursuit of careers.
Consumer and Industry Services Director Kathy Wilbur signed the scholarship contract and presented the check to Kirkhof School of Nursing leadership at GVSU's Richard M. DeVos Center on the Grand Rapids Campus this Thursday.
