Monday Montage

The Ensemble Montage, a select group of musicians based in Grand Rapids, presents a special concert Monday, March 27, at noon in the PAC Recital Hall. The performance features GVSU vocalist Lisa Feurzeig performing Arnold Schoenberg's 1912 work, Pierrot Lunaire. The piece will be conducted by John Varineau, of the Grand Rapids Symphony. It was a groundbreaking piece, Feurzeig said. It is based on French poetry by Albert Giraud. The poems feature characters as they might behave if touched by the moon.It is an extremely direct, expressive piece and I think faculty, staff, and students alike will find it interesting. The concert if free.
