Belgian Visitor

The first performer from abroad in this year's Summer Carillon Series comes to Grand Valley Sunday. Belgian Eddy Marien will play a largely classical concert that features the music of Bach, Chopin, and Beethoven.

Marien is carillonneur of the Flemish cities of Leuven, Halle, and Meise, is assistant carillonneur in Mechelen, and teaches at the Jef Denyn Royal Carillon School in Mechelen.

He has performed around the world and has received several prizes in international carillon competitions.

Sunday carillon concerts are free, begin at 8 p.m. and are each Sunday through August 20. Bring lawnchairs, blankets, food, toys, etc.
